Shellharbour Private Hospital has opened the region’s first Respiratory and Sleep Clinic. The Clinic is run by a team of Respiratory Physicians, Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists, and enables patients with respiratory issues such as asthma and obstructive sleep apnoea, and diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis, silicosis, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and cystic fibrosis to access state-of-the-art assessments and treatment locally. The Clinic provides an employment screening service for those requiring pre-employment testing or monitoring of their respiratory function, with weekly pulmonary rehabilitation classes also offered, helping to improve lung capacity and improve quality of life for those suffering pulmonary disease.
