Dr Olga Lavalle established her own psychological practice in 2006 after 18 years working in the public sector. She is the founder and principal of Dr Olga Lavalle & Associates, leading a team of highly skilled and experienced psychologists.
During the early stages of Olga’s career, she worked in community mental health, conducted research projects in collaboration with the University of Wollongong, developed staff training programs on managing aggression and violence, and worked on inpatient mental health units.
Olga has also published in scientific journals and presented at local, national and international conferences. She continues to publish articles for online media and is regularly interviewed by journalists. Olga has an interest in the assessment and diagnosis of adult mental health disorders. She provides evidenced based treatment, and her work falls within current best practice principles which is maintained through her commitment to ongoing professional development.
Olga is fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and holds endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist. She is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association, as well as the Australian Psychological Society and Fellow of the College of Clinical Psychologists. She provides specialist psychological services under Medicare, is an Employee Assistance Program provider and an approved WorkCover NSW provider. Additionally, Olga consults to workplace and community sporting organisations.
Olga has authored the newly released book ‘The New Normal: A Widow’s Guide to Grief’.
